How tuition and aid work

What sets tuition, how a place is held and how to ask about aid, in plain words.

  • What sets tuition

Tuition is set for the school year and depends on the grade band a child is in. After care and summer language weeks are billed apart. The school's figures are on the admissions page and are given at every visit.

  • Registration

A family pays an application fee when it applies, which covers reading the application and meeting the child. After an offer there is an enrollment fee that holds the place. Both are listed, with their purpose, in the program matrix. Families do not pay anything to visit.

  • Holding a place

When a place is offered, a family has until early April to answer. A signed enrollment agreement and a first payment hold the place, and that payment counts toward tuition. If every place is taken, a family can join the waitlist, and offers go out in the order families joined.

  • Billing

Tuition is billed monthly across the school year, with autopay set up through the family portal. Families who would rather pay by the term can ask at the visit. Summer weeks are billed a week at a time, when a family registers.

  • Help with tuition

Financial aid is available. Here is how to apply: after you submit an application, the office sends a short aid form. A small committee reads each form and answers in the same week as admissions decisions. Ask us at a visit whether a state education program applies to your family.

  • Siblings

A second child, or a third, is handled differently from the first, and the office will explain how when you apply. Brothers and sisters are read in the same season so a family hears about everyone at once.

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a month's notice in writing before a student leaves. What happens to a month in progress is in the enrollment agreement.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

Books in both languages, classroom materials and field trips are listed in the program matrix, with what each is for, and billed when a family signs for them. There is no uniform; the clothing answer is on the family policies page.
